Single-family house on the ground floor in La Cerdanya, comprising two main wings: one for common family life oriented towards daily activity and another where the sleeping area is located, with the bedrooms and garage.
The main structure of the building is made of wood, built on a reinforced concrete foundation slab. The vast majority of the walls and roofs are made of CLT cross-laminated timber panels machined by numerical control, complemented by glued laminated timber beams and trusses in the more open-plan areas. The gable roof ends in the lowest area with an impressive overhanging eave of more than 1.5m, which protects the passage and the façade on rainy and snowy days and provides shade on hot summer days.
VETA’s scope in this project encompasses the calculation of the timber structure in the design phase and the final 3D modelling of each structural element in the manufacturing and assembly stages, including the steel fittings necessary to make the connections between the different structural elements.
Our high degree of specialisation and the use of the most modern technology applied to the design and manufacture of the wooden elements allow us to go into the design of each connection in depth, planning the manufacture and installation in good time and achieving truly competitive assembly times, far removed from traditional construction typologies.
